Articles 372 and 373 make it illegal to buy or sell minors for the purpose of prostitution. In addition, section 78 of the Children Act 2013 requires any person who has effective responsibility or supervision of a child (redefined by law as a person under the age of 18) to seduce or induce the child into prostitution.  Other legal age limits worth mentioning (in Korea) include: The age of consent in East Timor is 14, regardless of sex or sexual orientation, in accordance with article 177. Drinking laws – The legal drinking age is 20 (or more precisely, January 1 of the year the person turns 20, as everyone is considered to be one year older when the year turns). Bars and nightclubs are usually open daily from 6pm to midnight, with longer opening hours (some are open from noon until the wee hours of the morning) on Friday and Saturday. In some areas of Seoul (such as Itaewon or Hongik) and other major cities, some bars remain open 24 hours a day. Beer and soju (South Korea`s infamous vodka-like liquor) are widely available in grocery stores and convenience stores, while wine is more likely to be found in specialty wine stores. Traditional Korean liquors (such as Makgeolli) can be found in traditional restaurants and some trendy bars. Alcohol is sold in department stores, supermarkets and convenience stores. In 1892, marital rape and the subsequent death of a 10-year-old girl, Phulmoni Dasi, led to raising the age of consent from 10 to 12. In 1949, it was increased to 16 after groups of women became agitated about the harmful effects of early pregnancy. [ref. needed].
 On April 3, 2014, the Criminal Law Amendment Act 2013 came into force, raising the legal age of sexual consent from 16 to 18. Twenty-six states have “Romeo and Juliet” laws, or age limit laws, that legalize sexual activity between underage participants if they are close enough to each other in age. The maximum age differences in these laws vary from state to state. For example, in Colorado, the age of consent is 17, but people under 15 can consent to a partner under four years older, and those under 15 or 16 can consent to a partner up to 10 years older.

Marriage should, of course, be recognized by the government so that the options mentioned can be made available. In April 2008, the case of Nujood Ali, a 10-year-old girl who managed to obtain a divorce, made headlines around the world and prompted calls to raise the legal age of marriage to 18.  Later in 2008, the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood proposed setting the minimum age of marriage at 18. The law was passed in April 2009, but abandoned the next day after attempts by opposing parliamentarians. Negotiations for the adoption of the law are ongoing.  The age of consent in Cambodia is 15, regardless of gender or sexual orientation.  The age of consent in this country is determined by Section 8 of Chapter 4 (Debauchery) of the Anti-Abduction, Trafficking and Exploitation of Persons Act, which was specifically enacted to prohibit sexual relations with children under the age of 15.
The law prohibits “debauchery” with a child under the age of 15, and this term (the original Cambodian word Anacha has been interpreted by the courts to prohibit any form of sexual behavior (consensual and non-consensual; both “normal” sex and paid sex) with a child under the age of 15.
